You should be getting fouled a lot if you're in the engine room, as it's where most of the battles are fought.

I've always liked noble, he's a good honest player, yes he's no messi, but he works hard, is neat and tidy, rarely gives away possession and in my opinion complements our other more athletic midfielders perfectly. And when in trouble he does always seem to draw a foul from the opposition, don't forget he's played for allardyce for the last 5 years, set pieces were one of his master plans

Liverpool put in some hard, cynical tackles in on Noble as he was absolutely ruining them with his passing.

Oh I agree, most stats are an absolute load of old bollocks.

Steve, he was in Dubrovnik over the weekend with his family.
Not sure what our training schedule is though. Perhaps they gave the players a couple of days off.

Bit of a difference there Russ, as he's charging at defenders and is the best player in the premier league (arguably) and so I imagine is targeted a lot.

Jesus, it's unbelievable the things people say to keep their agenda going.
Eden Hazard was the most fouled player in the PL last season. Does it mean he holds onto the ball too long?

Huffers and Vexed are both correct. He does sometimes hold the ball for too long thus inviting tackles.
He also looked so much better against Liverpool - maybe better than he's ever looked for the side against a top 6 team? Presumably because of the players around him it makes it easier for him (I don't mean that in a negative way - obviously the better players you have in your side, the easier it is for their teammates).

He looked much better in a midfield with pace at Liverpool. Still be interested to see the team that gets picked when everyone is fit.

That's always been a part of his game. He has always been prone to being caught in possession. It does mean he doesn't just lash it in blind panic, like Lomas used to.
Hopefully without Nolan stinking up the middle, having a full quota of teammates to pass to will help Noble's game.

Stop Mark NOBLE playing and you have a very good chance of stopping the team.
Nice to see the skipper running things so early in the season.
